good day MyCoE
after my students learn to use the gps ill let them bring the GPS at home so that they can get the location of their houses and map it.
After that ill assign them to map the source of their drinking water in their locality.

we are still busy with the enrolment but somehow, i already gave an overview about our training to my department head and principal.
starting July, i will select science teachers per year level, with ICT skills,to compose the "myCOE Circle"(including myself) that will serve as a core group.we will agree on a schedule for us to meet at least once a week for the "input" session, depending upon the approval of our principal.
i am still waiting for our first department meeting probably this third week of june to talk about the training with my fellow science teachers. by then,i can at least identify those who are interested to join the circle.

Good day!
Just arrived this dawn from Manila from a successful competition of my daughter (they made it to the top, Thanks God!)
As of my project, I still have to meet with my supervisor, principal and fellow Science Teachers.I will share with them what and how GIS/GPS work. I will then link with all First Year Science Teachers. I foresee an echo seminar on the early part of June.
That's it for now...I will keep you posted..

Hello MyCOE in Davao Mentors!
We are on the planning for sharing our skills in GPS and GIS to our fellow teachers. We are two from our school who attended the training. At least we can help each other. At the same time I can use the technology in my class particularly in teaching "Scientific Method". I will let my students conduct "An Investigation on Schoolyard Litters". Mapping at the same time the location of the collected litters, analyze as to what location are the litters are most abundant and less abundant. The result could be a good start for a class action plan .

Hi ma'am Susan,

A large area in Cagayan de Oro is devoid of trees. The project plan is on reforestation.
Since there are two of us from this place who have attended the Davao workshop, we will be conducting a join workshop on the use of GPS with students. We have already identified the area to reforest and we will be inviting two students from 6 schools to compose the group. we will be submitting the project plan and the training design before August.
Thank you very much for the new insight shared to us. We'll keep in touch.

Hello Susan and other MyCOE Trainers! My co-participants too. Glad to greet you with positive outlook to share the learnings we had at Davao City.I'm still on preparing the proposal of conducting an echo training among teachers. This needs the approval of the concerned school head.Initial discussions on GPS and GIS were done to let them be interested on the utilization of geospatial technologies in classroom instructions.I negotiated to borrow the GPS gadgets from my peer trainers of Surigao City Division.I hope this will be realized as I look forward of seeking additional insights or help from you in the near future. More power to all and God bless!

I look forward that gis and gps can help our learners pass our subject. hehe.. :-)Joke! Actually this is really interesting. I'm so happy that I'm part of this. I also challenge my co-teachers to integrate this to their classes. Let's show to our students that we can also compete with them especially in terms of ICT! Let's also show to them that were not left behind! ICT in classroom is cool! Ciao for now!
